Renate Taylor completed her bucket list of life and peacefully passed away on October 9, 2021. To be special and unique, you start your life with a Leap Year Birthday in 1936. She was born in Dresden, Germany and endured the hardships of the war before marrying an American soldier from Kalamazoo. Coming to America by ship, it could be said she learned her English from the sailors onboard. With her second husband, she had a son, Mark Taylor. Renate brought plenty of culture with her to the states like dancing, dinner parties, cooking and enjoyed golfing, traveling, and basking in the sun. She was one of the founders of the Kalamazoo Weavers Guild. Renate was a lab technician at Upjohn and then later fulfilled her love of fashion, working at Macy’s. On the side, she baked and sold German Tortes from her home. As a grandmother, she spent all her time spoiling her grandchildren, Vaughn and Oliver, until her dog, Toby came, then everyone took a second seat. Once you met her, you never forgot her. In accordance with her wish, cremation will take place and no service is scheduled. |
