Age 92, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Lila Jean was born in Portland, OR, on August 27, 1929, the daughter of William B. and Alda Mae (Church) McKinney. Lila Jean was very involved in the Daughters of the American Revolution, having served as President of the Oregon Chapter. She was also a member of the Portland Women’s Forum, which was instrumental in the erection of a statue of Theodore Roosevelt in Portland. She was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Kalamazoo. Lila Jean was a cat lover. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed going to the beach on the Oregon coast. Lila Jean is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Ken) Young of Kalamazoo, Holly (Wayne) Maunu of Boring, OR, Candy (Mike) McMillan of Greer, SC; grandchildren, Robin Blanchard, Michael Blanchard, Alan Blanchard, Spenser (Alyssa) Maunu, Toby Maunu, Felicia Maunu, Ian McMillan, Malcolm McMillan; great-granddaughter, Calliope Lila Maunu; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Floyd D. Hamilton and Chester F. Allen; a sister, Mary Ehara Vaughn. |
