Donald L. Hands

Age 92, passed away Tuesday morning, September 13, 2022. Don was born in Allegheny County, PA, on June 3, 1930, the son of Keys and Sara (Brenton) Hands. On May 19, 1951, he married Janet Frederick who survives him. Don was proud to serve his country in the United States Army. He worked for General Motors for many years, working most recently as a pattern maker. He was an avid golfer and liked playing billiards and bowling. He frequently visited the YMCA in Portage. The family has vivid recollections of family vacations and their times boating and camping together. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Sharon (Ronald) Penny of Three Rivers, Marcie (Seth) Virgo of Kalamazoo, Darryl Hands of Grand Rapids, 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a niece and two nephews; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Lee Hands, Jr.; and a brother, Carl Hands
