On January 15, 2023, John A. Volenski passed away at the age of 76, surrounded by his loving family at Bronson Methodist Hospital. John was born in Kalamazoo, MI on January 10, 1947, the son of the late Frankie and Evelyn (Bush) Volenski. John served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 with the 514 Transportation Company, Eight Army, South Korea. John also served 14 years in the Michigan National Guard with the 126 Signal Company – Kalamazoo. John worked hard as a Machinist at Humphry Products and retired after forty years. He had a great sense of humor and kind smile which made a difference in the lives of those around him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. His top priority in life was his family and their happiness, he leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived, filled with kindness and laughter. John loved spending time fishing with his grandson and laughing over breakfast with his granddaughters. He also took great joy in watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. John enjoyed playing golf and was an avid bowler with multiple 300 games. John also enjoyed family vacations, trips to the casino and time with his friends. He is survived by the love of his life, Connie (Huis) Volenski, married for 54 years. He is also survived by four children, Malynda (Mark) Smith, Chad (Reba) Volenski, Bryan Volenski, Ryan (Kim) Volenski; four grandchildren, Kelli Volenski, Bryce Smith, Baylee Smith, Sarah Volenski; siblings; nieces, nephews and friends. Even in his most weakened moments John focused on joy and laughter, easing the difficulties for others. |
