Age 60, passed away at home on Monday, May 1, 2023, with his family by his side. Troy was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on September 2, 1962, the son of Robert G. and Rosalee E. (Hills) McAdam. He attended Loy Norrix High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army. During his time in the service, Troy was stationed in Germany where his only son, Jacob was born. He retired from Canadian National Railroad where he worked as a conductor and prior to that, was employed by Roodbergen Pools and Spas. Troy enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting guns and gardening. He also enjoyed visiting flea markets, estate sales and auctions. Troy was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and loved his Harley Davidsons, owning many throughout the years. He attended numerous bike rallies, participated in many rides and enjoyed traveling to Sturgis and Daytona for Bike Week. Troy loved wintering in Homosassa, Florida and will be missed by the many friends there that became his Florida family. He is survived by his son, Jacob McAdam; mother, Rosalee McAdam; brother, Tony (Lori) McAdam; sister, Mickie McAdam and several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. Troy was preceded in death by his father, Robert McAdam, in August of 2022. A celebration of Troy’s life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 beginning at 2:00 PM at 14170 East L Ave., Galesburg, MI 49053. Interment with full military honors will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 1:00 PM (those planning to attend should arrive to the cemetery by 12:45 PM and meet at the Funeral Assembly area). Memorial contributions in Troy’s memory may be given to Promedica Hospice.
