Randy will be laid to rest with full military honors in a graveside service at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta, on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Those wishing to attend should gather in the cortege assembly area at 9:45 a.m. Guests will be invited back to the family following the service for a luncheon and to share memories from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Special Olympics Area 16, in c/o the funeral home. Randy’s family would like to thank all of his caregivers at Ascension Borgess Hospital, Dr. Frank Saltiel, Dr. Jerry Pratt, Mary Free Bed Inpatient Rehab, Hope Network of Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, Dr. Robert Morrison, Michigan Medicine, and Henry Ford Hospital of Detroit. Also, in his final months Randy was a resident and part of the family at Bethesda Ranch, where he received wonderful attention and care, and for whom the family is especially grateful. |

Age 67, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 18, 2024. Randy was born in Albion, NY, on February 13, 1957, the son of Robert C. (Rose) Allard and Agnes (Allport) Austin. He moved with his family to Ohio and completed his senior year at Bowling Green High School in 1975. Randy proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Ohio Army National Guard. Randy went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University with a degree in construction management. On August 11, 1984, he married Susan Roecker, a fellow university nursing student, who survives him. They had met at Dexter’s Sub Shop in Bowling Green, where they were both employed. Randy was a disaster consultant throughout the country and became passionate about his work. In his spare time, he liked golfing and riding with his daughter in his convertible. A highlight of his life was participating in two Boy Scout High Adventure trips to Philmont, NM, with his son. Randy was an avid Ohio State University Buckeye football fan. He was a proud and loving father. Besides his wife, Randy is survived by his children, Kristy Allard of Kalamazoo, Derek Allard of Kalamazoo; siblings, Robin (Bill) Wehling, Dennis (Edith) Allard, Paula (Jesse) Cartlidge and Mary J. (William) Kansorka; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends and colleagues throughout New York, Ohio and Louisiana. Randy was preceded in death by his parents. |
