Age 80, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Sandra was born in Kalamazoo on February 3, 1936, the daughter of the late Jess and Viola (Geren) Richards. She excelled as an athlete, playing both softball and volleyball. Sandra was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Donnie, Bob, Jack and Jess Richards and sister, Louise Horner. Sandra enjoyed family reunions and her children and grandchildren were always at the center of her world. She is survived by her husband, Tom Zimmie; children, Kenneth (Evelyn) VanderRoest, Judy Guenther and Diane (David) Russell; step-children, Debbie (Danny) Morgan, Susie (Mark) Matchulat and Amy (Mike) Kochis; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her sibling, Patricia (Raymond Springer) Crum, Dale (Judy Hill) and David (Yvonne) Richards and several nieces and nephews. | |
