Brenda K. Irwin age 77, of Portage, passed away Wednesday July 8, 2026, at Centrica Rose Arbor Place. Brenda was born May 2, 1949, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Jay and Ruth (Welch) Meyle. She graduated from Portage Northern High School and worked at Waylee Elementary School in Portage. Brenda enjoyed gardening, caring for her dogs, and going to the casino. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family. On August 31, 1972, in Portage, Brenda was united in marriage to William G. Irwin who survives. Also surviving is her only child James Yoder III; grandchildren, Ashley (Eric) Wines, James Yoder IV; two great-granddaughters, Kendalyn and Laurel Wines. She was preceded in death by her parents.
