A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo. Edward will be laid to rest at a later date with Guna at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hillside, IL. Memorial Contributions may be made to Kalamazoo Latvian Lutheran Church or Latvian Center Garezers, in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Edvards Arijs Sensnovis age 89 of Kalamazoo passed away Thursday morning, July 30, 2026. Edward, as he came to be known, was born in Rezekne, Latvia on April 7, 1937, the son of Alfreds and Valija Reiznieks. On May 1, 1965, he married Guna Anderson, who preceded him in death on May 6, 2026. Guna and Edward left their beloved Latvia as children, with their parents and came to Ellis Island in New York in 1950, knowing very little English. Edward proudly served in the United States Army in his adopted homeland, being discharged in 1966. Guna had a successful dental practice in Chicago and Edward served as her office manager. Prior to that he also worked as a free-lance mechanical engineer. Following their retirement, Edward and Guna enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers Beach, FL for many years. Edward is survived by his sons, Andrej Sensnovis and Arnold Sensnovis; several extended family members in Latvia; and many friends.
