A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at New Community Church, 502 N. Main St., Lawton. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 5:30 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Celebrate Recovery at New Community Church or at First Church House of God, in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Derek James Hunt age 50 of Paw Paw passed away early Saturday morning, September 12, 2026. Derek was born in Kalamazoo on March 16, 1976, the son of David Anthony and Marlene Joyce (Guikema) Hunt Sr. On July 1, 2026, he married Alisha K. Parish who survives him. Derek was a tree farmer and loved his work. He was a generous person and quick to love and be kind to others. He loved Jesus and wanted others to know Him. Besides his wife, Derek is survived by his son, Derek James Hunt, Jr.; his mother, Marlene Hunt; siblings, David (Karma) Hunt, Jr., Esther (Bruce) Tesar, Donald (Karen) Hunt, Ruth (Mark) Babel, Daen Tyler; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Derek was preceded in death by his father.
