Verland Wilson Barker age 80 of Paw Paw passed away Thursday evening, September 10, 2026. Verland was born in Lawrence, MI on March 9, 1946, the son of Buford and Jean (Smith) Barker. On December 31, 1994, he married Judith Barker Hinds who survives him. Verland proudly served his nation in the United States Navy from 1967-1969. He worked for General Motors for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer. He especially enjoyed playing with his best friend, Marc. He loved being outside. Nothing was more important to him than his family. Besides his wife, Verland is survived by his children, Jamie (Mark) Boykins, Sam Barker; grandchildren, Duvon, Alexandr, Jourden, Mya, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Izella, Ayuri, Saroya; sister, Cassie (John) Hoogendoorn; brother, Larry Barker; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Verland was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Buford Barker, Jr.
