Erma Jean Kohl age 90 of Kalamazoo, passed away Friday afternoon, October 23, 2026. Erma was born in Charlotte, MI, on September 23, 1936, the daughter of Franklin and Mildred (Kelly) Bryner. On August 13, 1989, she married Lawrence Kohl who preceded her in death in 2005. Erma loved working jigsaw and word search puzzles. She was also good at embroidery. She liked to travel and see new places. For many years she drove herself to Florida and back for the winter. She liked cats and was good at giving them a good home. She was a stay-at-home mom and dedicated herself to raising her children. Erma is survived by her children, Cathy Yeager, Diane (Tim) Stout, Rose Watson, Delbert (Melissa) Watson and Jennifer Wethington; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Barnes; brother, Stan (Marcia) Bryner; sister-in-law, Janet Bryner; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. Besides her husband, Erma was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roger Bryner and Daryl Bryner; grandson, Joseph Watson.
