Donamarie “Dusty” Reeds age 98 of Richland, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026. Dusty was born in Lincoln, NE, on December 1, 1927, the daughter of Gerald and Theresa (Holzhammer) Krause. In June of 1950, she married John Newton Reeds who preceded her in death in 2012. Dusty obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from Colorado College and a Master of Arts degree in Theater Design from Purdue University. She worked as a Professor at San Jose State University, where there is a scholarship endowed in her name. Throughout her life she was the recipient of many other awards and honors, including having her name on the Wall of Fame at the Barn Theater in Augusta, where she was a frequent set designer, director, and actress. Besides her professional artistry, she also had a flare for painting and playing the piano. Dusty is survived by her sons, Robin Reeds Haynes and John Michael Reeds; grandchildren, Morgan Emory Reeds and Whitney Taylor Reeds; two great-grandchildren; nieces, Carmen Bahr Duffek; nephew, Norman Bahr; and countless friends. Besides her husband, Dusty was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Geraldine Krause Bahr.
