Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 1:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St. with Pastor Jim Dyke officiating. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in South Portage Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, in care of the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 91, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Higgins Lake. Herschel was born on March 10, 1928 in Nelsonville, OH, the son of Ralph and Nellie (Nostein) Largent. On October 20, 1950, he married Barbara Ann Weaver who survives him. Herschel proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years as a Supervisor at Kalamazoo Sled Company and at Gibson Guitar. He retired from Sterling Worth Music. He had a great sense of humor. His love of family and life will forever be missed. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathy and Gary, David and Jenny, Doug; a daughter in law, Pam; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel; brother, Herman. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 siblings, Hobie, Herbert, Helen, Harry and Harold; a son, Dan; and two infant great-granddaughters.
