Ronald H. Rus

A private graveside service will take place on Monday, November 23, 2020, at West Cooper Cemetery, where Ronald will be laid to rest. A celebration of life will be held next year, when family and friends are able to gather. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Family and friends are encouraged to leave a condolence message.
Obituary
Age 90, passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord, while residing in Grandville, MI, on Thursday, November 19, 2020. He was born in Corsica, SD, on May 21, 1930, the son of Leendert and Gertrude (Mulder) Rus. After graduating from Union High School, Grand Rapids MI, Ronald honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 10, 1953, Ron married Jean Hiemstra, and they recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. Ron retired from General Motors Corporation after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed spending time with family & friends, being outdoors, and going for drives. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Peter, William, Catherine Lloyd, Arena Knoper, Leonard, twin Donald, as well as his beloved granddaughter, Charity Rus. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Jean, children: Norman (Linda) Rus, Timothy (Sharon) Rus, Lavonne (Craig) Rus-Ogilvie, and Jeffrey (Jean) Rus, along with nine grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
