Age 96, passed away on February 14, 2021. Mary was born in Vandalia, on July 6, 1924, the daughter of Fred and Nina Marie (Smeltzer) Newman. On June 4, 1949, she married David McGee who preceded her in death on February 16, 2014. They enjoyed almost 65 years of married life. Prior to meeting her husband she was an employee of Michigan Bell Telephone Company. She and David were avid Ridgeview Golfers. Mary and David were proud charter members of Westwood United Methodist Church and attended church faithfully. She was a dedicated home maker, loved plants and gardening. During the last few years she enjoyed being a resident of Friendship Village. Nothing was more important to her than her family and she was a loving wife and mother.  Mary is survived by her children, Kathy (Bill Wilson) McGee of Kalamazoo, and Tom (Mary) McGee of Ashley, IL; daughter-in-law, Sue McGee of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Kerry (Jon Reynolds) Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Tana McGee, Amanda McGee, Sara (John) McConnell and Allison McGee; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Wyatt McConnell; a sister, Clara Pearson; a brother-in-law Jim McGee; Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bruce McGee and sister, Ardith Boadt.
