A visitation will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a private family service and interment at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Southern Heights CRC Building Fund.
Obituary
Age 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Doris was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on August 9, 1932, the daughter of the late William and Dena (Slager) Dykers. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School, class of 1950. Doris was employed at the Upjohn Company for 10 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and attended many U.S. Navy reunions around the country with him. Doris also loved to garden and spent many years working at Elzinga Hoeksema Greenhouse. She was a long-time member of Southern Heights Christian Reformed Church where she devoted many hours volunteering. On May 29, 1959, Doris was united in marriage to John Potts, Jr., who survives. She is also survived by her son, Timothy (Cindy VanSparrentak) Potts; daughter, Amy (Jim) Struble; grandchildren, Calvin (Sara) Altermatt and Kayla (Joel) Ritsema; great-grandson, William Mack Altermatt; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn (Jim) DeMull.

Dorie was such a sweet lady. I loved seeing her smiling face as she sat in the back row at church. She will be missed. Love, prayers, and hugs to John and her family.
