Obituary
Passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Vivian was born in Galeni, Latvia, on November 22, 1941, the daughter of the late Antons & Bronislava (Uganis) Indans. On November 16, 1963, she married Juris “Jerry” Ritums who preceded her in death on July 18, 1993. Surviving is her son, Martin J. Ritums and her daughter Susan Ritums; granddaughter, Tori Ritums; two sisters, Loni Bogdans and Lucy Salzemnieks; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Vivian was kind, gentle and loving; her family was at the center of all she lived for. She had a heart of gold and was a mother to everyone she knew. She had a passion for flowers, gardening and being outdoors. For thirty years she was employed at Wenke Greenhouse. Though she was tiny in size, her personality was larger than life. Vivian’s smile and laughter will be missed by all who loved her. In accordance with her wish cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

To the family of Vivian, your Mom worked at Upjohns before you were all born. We became very good friends but list contact…she was so very happy when she finally became pregnant and the she left Upjohns. I have many good memory’s of our time as friends. May she rest in peace. Linda LaPlante Wyant
