Obituary
Age 92 of Kalamazoo, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025. Nancy was born in Flint, MI on July 17, 1933, the daughter of Donald James and Emilie Helen (Schmidt) Dowsett. On July 14, 1954, she married Thomas Howick Lutz who preceded her in death in 1982. Nancy was a positive and happy person. She enjoyed living at her lake house in the summer and in Florida in the winter. Nothing was more important to her than her family and she adored her grandchildren and GG’s. Nancy is survived by her children, Sue (A.J.) Crookston, Bob (Andrea) Lutz, Barb (Dave) Brown; grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Tom, Emilie, Maria, Olivia, Nicole, Robby, and Becca; six GG’s; sister, Mary Jane (Herb) Lenon; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack Dowsett and Jim Dowsett.

She was a fantastic Grandmother to me, my siblings, and all of my cousins. We all have so many good memories of hanging out with her, she loved being a big part of our lives. Grandma definitely passed on her good traits as I know I’m blessed with an amazing Mother, Aunt, and Uncle. She was instrumental in raising a beautiful & cohesive family.
We will miss seeing Nancy at Stagestop Campground in Wintergarden Florida. She rented our trailer in the winter months! I didn’t get to see her alot because I came in the summer and she was already gone but she was such a good person! I got to spend a couple winters with her when I retired & she stayed in her brother John’s trailer we had a good time playing games! She was the best renter ever she kept things so neat & clean we all will miss seeing her!
