June 2, 1951 - October 2, 2025

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery, Climax, where Alan will be laid to rest next to his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Comstock Community Center or Galesburg United Church of Christ in c/o the funeral home.

I met Allen many years ago when I came to his house to install carpet and then was delighted when he called me back to do more work a few years back. I found him to be very funny and charming and he later invited my wife and I to dinner at his house where we shared good food and many laughs. We also got to see his incredible back yard garden. Always a wonderful sense of humor, I will always miss him and have thought of him many times over the years.

Ich bin zutiefst bestürzt und auch ich kann meine Trauer aufgrund des Todes meines besten Freundes Alan nicht verleugnen. Mit diesem Nachruf möchte ich ihn in allerbester Erinnerung behalten und ihm die letzte Ehre erweisen.

Alan and I worked together at Hilgeman’s market while we were in high school, then served on the community center board together. He was a friend who will be missed.
