A memorial service is being planned with the date and time to be announced shortly. Allan will be laid to rest next to Shirley at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park South, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of one’s choice, in c/o the funeral home.

Allan R. Heavey age 96 of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday afternoon, February 15, 2026. Allan was born in Cleveland, OH, on August 10, 1929, the son of John and Florence (Dresser) Heavey. On September 2, 1950, he married Shirley L. Hildebrand who preceded him in death in 2024. Allan is survived by his children, Allan R. “Rick” Heavey, Jr., John D. Heavey, Lois Louden, Pamela (Douglas) Phillips; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several other blended family children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and countless honorary children and grandchildren. Besides his wife, Allan was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Nancy (James R. “Wink”) Connell.
