Calvin Jones passed away at the age of 85 on Friday June 6, 2025. Calvin was born August 19, 1939, in Harrietta, MI, the son of Rollin and Mabel (Burlingame) Jones. He graduated from Manton High School and then from Michigan Technological University in Civil Engineering. Calvin retired after working 29 years for the Michigan Department of Transportation as a Professional Engineer. He then worked as the Chief Engineer for both the City of Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo County Road Commission retiring in 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren. On November 29, 1963, Calvin was united in marriage to Rosetta Mae Creed who preceded him in death on February 1, 2024. Surviving are two children, Craig (Brenda) Jones, Jennifer (Mike) Woolsey; seven grandchildren, Eleanor (Jenn) Jones, Stephen Jones, Brianna (Gabriel Moreau) Jones, Brooklyn Jones, Tyler Woolsey, McKenna Woolsey, Brody Woolsey; great-grandson, Marcus Campos-Jones; sisters-in-law’s, Lloy Jones, Ellen (Greg) Fauble, Maxine Price, Tina Creed, Nancy Creed, Sandy Yonkers; brother-in-law’s Roscoe (Roberta) Creed, Brenden (Kathleen) Creed; many nieces & nephews. Also preceding him in death were his brother, Rollin, two half-sisters, Dorothy and Norie, and two brother-in-law’s, Stacey Creed and Hartley Creed.
