The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM. Private interment at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Age 79, passed away at Rose Arbor on Saturday, October 27, 2018. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on September 19, 1939, the daughter of the late Joe and Emagene (Newmeyer) Drenth. Carolyn was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who loved her. She was a hard worker who was employed by Gibson Guitar Company and then retired from Bronson Hospital after 25 years of service. When not working she enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, arts and crafts. She had a selfless heart and enjoyed volunteering at the West Michigan Cancer Center. She made friends easily and was an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 1527. Above all Carolyn loved her family and friends and leaves them with the legacy of a life well lived. She is survived by her children, Arlene (Tim) Scherer, Dave (Randy) Brinkert, Marsha Ferguson, Robert (Jan) Brinkert and Kenneth (Marge) Brinkert; granddaughter, Mindy (Bill) Lux; great-grandson, Levi Lux; sister, Linda (Ron) Stoeffler; life partner, Ken Galbreath and his children; many nieces, nephews and friends. Carolyn is also preceded in passing by her former husband, Jack Brinkert and step-father, Harold Armstrong.
