David L. Markus

June 30, 1940 - February 18, 2025

The Lord willing, visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Providence Christian School, 100 Pratt Rd. Kalamazoo, MI 49001. The family will also receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Kalamazoo Reformed Church, 5300 Comstock Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49048. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Joel Beeke, officiating. David will be laid to rest at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Christian School, c/o the funeral home.

To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Each time I had the opportunity to talk with Mr. Markus, I felt his quiet centeredness and faith. He didn't talk long, so I listened quickly and watched closely. His eyes and his smile showed his depth of love for his family. My first introduction to Mr. Markus was in 2005 when Jackie told me about Nathan running to the car with his grandpa to be his work buddy. As I encountered him from time to time, I began to understand that his steadfast commitment and service to God and to his family would, indeed, make him a model man for his grandchildren to follow.
