David M. Kabbe age 64 of Kalamazoo passed away March 28, 2026. Dave was born in Kalamazoo on August 2, 1961, the son of David Stewart and Betty Jean (Conklin) Kabbe. Dave was an enthusiast of anything with two wheels; bicycles, minibikes, motorcycles, and BMX bikes. He even could build, rebuild, or restore BMX bikes. Besides his collection of two wheeled things, he was also a fan of comic books. He was an amazing craftsman. He could take anything apart and put it back together. His mechanical ability led him into a career as a plumber and pipe fitter and he was a proud member of UA Local 357. Dave was a musician and had played guitar as a part of several bands. In his younger days he enjoyed roller skating with friends at Rollerworld, where he also had one of his first jobs. He could skate backwards, do backflips and other acrobatic tricks in front of others. Dave was always willing to help others and was well-liked by those who knew him. The world is a better place for having had him here. Dave is survived by his sons, Keagan Kreps and Cameron Conroy; sister, Victoria Kabbe-Penny; nephew, David W. Penny; countless friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
