Age 76, died April 14, 2019, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Don was born on October 8, 1942, in Stoneham, Massachusetts, the son of Ralph and Alta Mae (Stevens) Perkins. On December 14, 1974 he married Frances “Sue” Grubbs who survives him. He studied at Andrews University, and was a graduate of Walla Walla University. He worked for many years as an administrator and dean in Adventist Academies around the nation, including Ozark Adventist Academy, Garden State Academy, Laurelwood Adventist Academy, and Indiana Adventist Academy. As Dean of Men in these institutions, those who mourn his loss include the young men who looked up to him, admired him, and saw him as a role model. He loved his New England sports teams. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Don left a lasting impression on anyone he met. He had over 2500 Facebook friends and managed to keep in meaningful contact with almost all of them. Besides his wife Sue, he is survived by his children, Keilor (Yorlen) Perkins of Costa Rica, Jairo (Olivia) Perkins of Washington, Vanessa Bradley of Battle Creek, Esther Peariso of Grand Rapids, Maria Perkins of Battle Creek, Tandia (Roger) Bugel of Battle Creek and Noylen Perkins of Battle Creek, 18 Grandchildren; and a brother in law, Clyde Armstrong of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Dorothy Armstrong.
