Age 90 of Kalamazoo went into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 18, 2025. Faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Evelyn lived the abundant life for nearly 91 years. She was born on February 15, 1935, to the late Fred and Gertrude (VanBruggen) Jepkema in Kalamazoo. A graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School, she married Jan Hendrik “Henry” Knibbe on April 17, 1959. He preceded her in death in 2010. Evelyn thrived as a wife and mother, having six children in eleven years. Mom’s soul went to be with Jesus after Psalm 23:6 had just been read. “…and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” A woman of strong faith and devotion to her Lord and family she will be missed, yet we cherish the eternal impact she imprinted on our lives. Continuing on the journey of life are her children, Cheryl and David Post, David and Gayle Knibbe, Donna and Timothy Partin, Carla and Scott Hatfield, Doug and Cathy Knibbe, Christy and Stan Nagel; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred Jepkema, Don Jepkema, Deb (Jim) Smit and Shirley Turcott; sisters in law, Marsha Jepkema, Wilma Knibbe; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
