Age 72, passed away early Saturday afternoon, May 22, 2021. Gerrie was born in Kalamazoo on May 28, 1948, the daughter of Gerald Erwin and Marjorie May (Kingsbury) Dickinson. Gerrie loved gardening and working in her yard. She loved hearing her windchimes. She loved all genres of music, especially the Gaithers and playing her accordion.  She enjoyed crocheting. Nothing was more important to Gerrie than her family, and she especially loved spending time with her grandkids. Gerrie is survived by her children, Tomilyn (Oscar) Cavanaugh of Portage, William (Michelle) Cavanaugh of Portage, Jodi (Dean) Cavanaugh of Portage, Jerry (Teresa) Cavanaugh of Comstock; significant other of 18 years, Lance Ailes of Portage; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; step-mother, Elaine Dickinson of Kalamazoo; siblings, Jacqueline (Larrie) Austin of Kalamazoo, Julie O’Flynn of Paw Paw; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a great grandchild, Kevin Cavanaugh; a sister, Jill Ann Penning.
