A Celebration of Jack’s Life will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Comstock VFW Post 6252, 5990 E. Michigan Ave., Comstock. Memorial contributions may be made to ALS Foundation, in c/o the funeral home.

Age 74 of Kalamazoo passed away Friday afternoon, October 31, 2025. Jack was born in New Orleans, LA, on September 24, 1951, the son of William L. and Mary Ellen (Wagar) Rinehart. Jack had a great sense of humor and quick wit. He was known for filling a room with laughter. He was very athletic, with softball being his favorite sport. He was also good at bowling, golfing and fishing. In 2003, he helped bring home a softball slow pitch title from the Las Vegas World Masters AA 50 and over championship with a 7-2 record, first place rings and trophy. Jack loved going to the casino and had a strategic way of playing Keno. He always enjoyed time with his family and his many friends. His family will forever cherish his memory. He shared 35 years with Barb Craig who survives him. Jack is survived and will be remembered as a loving father to his children, Steve (Kathy DeBruyn) Rinehart, Lisa Rinehart; he was known as “PeePaw” to his grandchildren, Dustin Pore, Trevor Rinehart, Kaylee (Tyler) Currier; great grandchildren Kaden Pore, Brynlee Foy and Braydn Currier; siblings, William (Diane) Rinehart, Ronald (Margo) Rinehart, John (Terrie) Rinehart; brothers in law, Dean Petersen and Aubrey Arndt; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joanne Arndt, Jeanne Petersen. The family would like to thank Christy Harding for her help throughout Jack’s illness, and Rose Arbor for their care in his final days.
