Age 74, passed away Monday June 20, 2016 at his home in Allegan surrounded by family and friends. James was born December 28, 1941 to Ervin and Georgia (Warren) Sinkler. He grew up in the Cooper area and later went on to serve his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the war he went into carpentry and then became a certified mechanic. James was also a millwright with the local 1102 and was a life member of VFW POST 3030. James is survived by his wife, Shirley (Bixler) Sinkler of Allegan; son, Kenneth (Jennifer) Knapp of Allegan; daughter, Mia (Ernesto, Sr.) Gonzalez; son in-law, James Loss of Grand Junction; nine grandchildren and their spouses, 26 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Sherwood of Oklahoma, Juanita Kresin of, Illinois, Nancy (Tom) Zeedyk of Parchment and Alice (Doug) Hanchette of Cooper; one brother, Westley (Jerri) Sinkler of Gobles and several nieces, nephews and cousins. James was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Julie Loss; two sisters, Kathryn and Lela and three brothers, Art, Clarence and Frank.
