In accordance with her wish cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest with her husband Russell at Liberty Cemetery in Alamo. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Ronald McDonald House, c/o the funeral home.

Jeanette Mae Shaff, age 90, passed away at Story Point of Kalamazoo on March 5, 2026. She was born in Delta, OH, on July 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Allen and Lillian (Smalley) Stephenson. Jeanette moved to Alamo, MI, after the passing of her mother at a young age. She would be raised by her aunt and uncle, Merl (Dawn) Rayman, who also preceded her in passing. Jeanette graduated from Otsego High School, Class of 1953. She would begin a career working for the John Hancock Life Insurance Company, retiring after nearly forty years. On June 5, 1954, she married the love of her life, Russell D. Shaff, who preceded her in passing in 2012. Jeanette was kind, loving and outgoing. She lived each day to the fullest, wearing a smile and making new friends each day. She enjoyed wintering in Florida and would travel to many musical events and local shows with her husband. She spent eight years living in Pennsylvania where she enjoyed traveling, boating and fishing. She returned to Southwest Michigan where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was deeply proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always took an interest in their growth. Jeanette loved her family, her friends and those she met along life’s way. She will be missed by all who knew and cared for her. She is survived by two daughters, Robin Usselman and Debbie (Troy) Smith, of Glenmoore, PA; grandchildren, Eric (Michelle) Usselman, Lisa (Benjamin) Maynard, Jessica (Rob) Aronson, of PA, Stephenie (Justin) Savage, of PA, Courtney (Dan) Clay, of PA; great-grandchildren, Hanna and Aubree Usselman, Evelyn and Daniel Aronson, Caileigh Rogers, Ellie Savage and Connor Clay; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by six siblings, Betty, Wayne, Faye, Donald, Marylou and Phyllis.
