Joan Sukovich passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 1, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born on September 1, 1939 in Lansing, MI. In her youth, she was a gifted golfer and bowler and was on several leagues. She enjoyed reading on her porch, taking trips to the casino, making her famous chop suey for friends and family and traveling to northern Michigan with her siblings and in-laws. Joan spent more than thirty years employed at Western Michigan University where she eventually retired. Above all, she loved her family and her friends and will be missed for her brutally honest opinion, spunky personality, and wealth of knowledge. She is survived by four children, Karman (Xavier) Cook, Dwight (Connie) Rapp, Linda Fish and Teresa (Jeffrey) Wolfe; six grandchildren, Dusty Rapp, Dylan Rapp, Misty Rapp, Melody Rapp, Lauren (Mike) Sylvester, Darren (Kim) Fish six great-grandchildren; a brother, Stanley; a sister in law, Kay; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in passing by her husband; a daughter, Renae Rapp; three siblings, Beverly, Richard and Charles. In accordance with her wish, cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Hospice, c/o the funeral home.
