Age 62. With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to John Kelly Koerts, who departed from us unexpectedly on April 19, 2024. His sudden departure has left an irreplaceable void in our lives. John was more than a son and brother; he was a beacon of love and warmth in our family. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on July 19, 1961, the son of John P. and Bonnie (Rohm) Koerts. John’s love for music was profound; it was his solace and his joy. He enjoyed listening to the melodies of favorite artists in his collection; music was his constant companion. His passion for communication extended beyond music; John found joy in CB radio conversations, forging connections with people near and far. His voice, echoing through the waves, was a testament to his friendly nature and genuine interest in others. John’s intellect shone brightly in the world of chess. He approached the game with strategic prowess and a keen eye, finding delight in the intricacies of each move. In the embrace of his mother, Bonnie Jean Rohm, and sister Cheryl Koerts, John found unwavering love and support. Though he may have left this world, his memory will forever live on in their hearts. He is survived by his mother and sister; nieces, Britinie Roush, Victoria Sturgeon and Gabrielle Hoard; four great-nieces and two great-nephew, extended family and friends. He was preceded in passing by his father and a brother, Richard Glazier.
