Age 68, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Julie was born in Allegan, Michigan on July 4, 1955, the daughter of the late Richard and Dora (Delp) Burgen. On November 25, 1977, she married Dennis A. MacDonald, who preceded her in death on August 23, 2020. Julie was also preceded in death by her brother, John Dyer; sister, Linda Sue Braun and brother in-law, Ken Robinson. She is survived by her children, Tyler MacDonald and Lacey (Scott) Merchant; grandchildren, Carson Vance and Elaina Merchant; brothers, Jim (Pat) Dyer, Dave (Jane) Dyer and Richard, Jr. (Tracy) Burgen; sisters, Rose Robinson, Paula (Don) Brown and Diane Day; in-laws, Terri Dyer, Randy MacDonald, Pam (Bob) Feldkamp and Marilyn (Chris) Slaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Julie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also an avid bingo player and enjoyed watching TV. A memorial service will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM. A time of visitation will take place at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 PM. Private interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or to assist with her grandchildren’s educational expenses (checks payable to Carson Vance or Elaina Merchant).
