Age 79, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 with his family by his side. Larry was born in Kalamazoo on September 24, 1941 and was raised by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Floy Whipple. He was a loyal employee at Beach Products in Kalamazoo for over 44 years, retiring in 2003. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting, fishing and camping. On October 28, 1960, Larry married the love of his life, Peggy L. (Boyer) Whipple, who survives. Peggy is grateful that they were able to spend their 60th wedding anniversary together just a few short weeks ago. He is also survived by his children, Mark (Brenda), Connie and Mike (Melissa) Whipple; nine grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, all who put a sparkle in his eye. Additional survivors include his brother, Pete (Judy) Whipple; sisters in-law, Sandy Baptiste, Donna Rickstad and Marilyn Boyer; as well as numerous half siblings and nieces and nephews. Besides his grandparents, Larry was preceded in death by his father, Howard Whipple; grandson, Randy Joe Warren; parents in-law, Elmer and Mary Boyer, whom he also thought of as parents; and brothers and sisters in-law, Ed (Sharron) Boyer, Linda Rodenberger, Albert Rickstad and Amie Baptiste.
