Laverne “Vern” Boerman, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2026. He was born on June 11, 1935, in Holland, MI, the son of the late Peter and Geraldina “Dena” (VanDenBosch) Boerman. Vern was a kind, loving and faithful husband, father and grandfather who leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. He was a devoted member of Texas Corners Bible Church. On December 17, 1960, he was united in marriage to Carole E. Purcell, who preceded him in passing in 2019. He worked hard to provide for his family, and he leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish. He is survived by a son, Thomas (Denise) Boerman; grandchildren, Andrew and Alyssa (Kyle) Walters; step-granddaughters, Morgan (Gavyn) Washburn and Cassidy Medema; great-grandchildren, Kai, Ari and Zoe Walters; sisters, Nancy (Peter) Caruso, Polly (Rick) Ruder, Joan Barnhar; extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen E. Shephard; siblings, Grace, Edward, Clarabell, Nelson and Arlene.
