There will be a celebration of life on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Louis will be laid to rest with his parents and brother at Mt. Home Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice, in c/o the funeral home.

Louis Orban, Jr., 83, of Sarasota, FL passed away November 13, 2024. Louis was born in Budapest, Hungary to Lajos (Louis) and Ilona (Helen) (Kral) Orban.

Louis was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and Western Michigan University. He was a Cardiopulmonary Technician from 1977 until 2004. He worked in the Publix Supermarket frozen foods department from 2005 until 2022.

Louis enjoyed many hobbies, woodworking, putting together model airplanes, battleships and trains, Astronomy, helping build Halloween props for the yearly neighborhood yard haunt, watching college and pro football. Louis was very kind and willing to help those in need.

Louis was a member of the Church of the Palms, Sarasota, FL.

Louis was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Helen Orban, Sr., and his brother, Gabor Orban.

Louis is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maureen “Miki” Orban; stepdaughter, Heather O’Clair (Michael) Kirby of Sarasota, FL; brothers, Ervin (Cynthia) Orban of Nashville, IN and George (Rae Ramsdell) Orban, of Holt, MI; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
