Marilyn Jean Hahn died peacefully at Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services in Charlotte, MI, on August 30, 2025. Marilyn was born to Lester and Georgia (nee Casper) White on April 14, 1927, in South Bend, Indiana. She lived her childhood and high school years in her beloved Mishawaka, Indiana, and remained a die-hard Notre Dame fan and a true Hoosier in her heart to the end. Marilyn studied nursing for a year after high school. She married Gordon Frederick Hahn in New Buffalo, MI, in 1951. Marilyn worked in the office of Michigan Bell Telephone in Lansing, MI, and The Upjohn Company (now Pfizer) in Kalamazoo, MI, until their family grew and she resigned to raise their three daughters. The years were filled with family, traveling, bowling, golfing, card playing, and flower gardening. Marilyn was also an excellent cook and skilled at embroidery, and she enjoyed following the Detroit Tigers when Notre Dame football was not in season. Marilyn and Gordon spent wonderful retirement years together with many friends in Leesburg, FL, and Traverse City, MI. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, her brothers Dean White and Robert White, and her dear sister Maxine (White) Ellis. She is survived by her daughter Kathy L. Hahn of Mishawaka, IN; daughter Sherry (Mike) Castle of Gaylord, MI and their five children, Rachel (Derek) Herzer, Sarah (Niranjan) Madhavan , Paul Castle, Joel Castle, and Ruth Castle; and daughter Lisa (Keith) Morgensai of Marshall, MI, and their two sons, Kenneth (Julia) Morgensai and Alex Morgensai, and Keith’s daughter, Tori Morgensai. Marilyn was very happy to welcome her first great-grandchild, Tobias Morgensai, in her final year of life.
