Age 68, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Plainwell, Michigan on January 24, 1949 to the late Bethal Orr and Briene C. Verkow. At a young age she contracted scarlet fever and due to a prolonged high temperature became developmentally disabled. She was a huge NASCAR fan; her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. She loved taking care of her cat “Missy,” and her brother’s dog, “Brandi.” She was a loving and caring sister and friend, and was always willing to help. There wasn’t a person that met her that didn’t love her. She grew up in Plainwell and later moved to Lansing with her brothers Terry and Kim. In her later years she had lived with her mother, Betty. She then lived with her brother, Terry. She is survived by her brothers, Terry (Michele-deceased) Herington and Kim (Debbie) Herington and step-brothers and sisters, Don (Katie) Verkow, Marcia (Joe) Holdeman, Tina Richardson, Debbie (Jay) Wolf, and Rick (Amy) VerKow; many nieces and nephews.
