Marye Ann Fitzsimmons, age 79, passed away at the Villas of Beacon Place on January 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Kalamazoo on November 5, 1946, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Edith (Rabb) Papierz. Marye was a kind, loving and generous woman. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of Texas Corners Bible Church where she will be missed. Her heart was given to the love of her life, William Fitzsimmons Sr. whom she married on January 16, 1965. They shared 61 years together. Her greatest joy came from raising her children and grandchildren. Her home was an open and safe place where her family would gather to enjoy Marye’s wonderful cooking and make memories. Later in life she and William took to the road in their motorhome and enjoyed visiting many places throughout the country. She was a loyal sister who never relinquished her roll as “big sister” or the care that came with it. Marye gave her all to those she loved, and she leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. She is survived by her husband, William; sons, Bill (Christine) Fitzsimmons, John (Sandy) Fitzsimmons; grandchildren, Paige, Breanna, Daylin and Ilona Fitzsimmons; step-grandchildren, Samantha Fletcher and Kalyn Zuren; great-granddaughter, Alyson; sister, Patty Fitzsimmons; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a grandson, Billy Fitzsimmons III; brother, Rudy “Bud” Papierz; sister, Jovonna (Charles) Baumgart; brother-in-law, Victor Fitzsimmons Sr.; nieces, Tereasa Fitzsimmons.
