Age, 91, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Life Care Center of Plainwell. Peter was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on January 16, 1930, the son of the late Shefqet and Anna (Wolkenstein) Vavla. He served his country honorably in the Unites States Marine Corps during the Korean War. On September 3, 1955, Peter was united in marriage to the former Sadie M. Churchill, who preceded him in death on March 25, 2011. He was a skilled roller skater and owned and operated Richland Skating Center, West lake Skating Center and a rink in Evert, Michigan. Peter enjoyed watching his children participate in competitive skating. He also loved spending time on the lake, fishing and water skiing. He loved his family, and they were always at the center of his life. Peter is survived by his children, David Vavla, Denise (Leonard Graff) Vavla and Daniel (Stormy Bullard) Vavla; grandchildren, Christopher Secondi, Stephanie (John) Clark, Brandon Graff and Donna Land; great-grandchildren, Max and Bexley Secondi, Owen Graff and Allyssa, Emmet and Bella Land; daughter in-law, Mary Pochron-Secondi and several nieces and nephews.
