Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Friday, December 19, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Robert’s family (checks payable to Aaron Bertrand) c/o the funeral home.

Robert Calvin Bertrand, age 81, passed away at Centrica Rose Arbor Place on December 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Donwood, WV, on November 20, 1944, the son of the late Sidney and Margaret (Brown) Bertrand. To know Robert was to love him. He led a life of faith and had a love for the Lord that was the foundation of his life. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served our country with honor. His love for God and Country would remain with him throughout life. He had a servant heart, and his home and heart were always open to those in need. Robert believed that all he had was a gift from God and he never hesitated to share with others. He was a faithful member of the Body of Christ where he found amazing ways to share Gods love. He worked hard operating Bee-Clean Building Services. When not working he was a passionate NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching UFC events. Robert loved being in the sun and spending time at the beach. He was a gifted cook whose meals were rarely missed, and he always made the effort to have something special for guests. Above all Robert loved his family and friends. He was a loving and involved father and grandfather who leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. Robert will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his loving wife and companion Carrie Bertrand-Sluiter; children, Ashley Raab, Aaron Bertrand, Mariah Watt, Serenity Ready, Brayden Randall, Brison Ready; grandchildren, Emma and Samantha Bertrand; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by a son, Robert B. Bertrand, and brother, Gary Dempsey.
