Sandra Kay Wise, age 86, passed away at her home on December 26, 2025, surrounded by five generations of family. Sandy was born in Scotts, MI, on March 1, 1939, the daughter of the late Mark Sr. and Flora (Simons) Champion. She grew up in Southwest Michigan, graduating from Galesburg High School where she was a cheerleader and twirling majorette. On August 15, 1987, she married the love of her life, Harry Wise who preceded her in passing January 14, 2014. Passionate about people and fashion, she began a career in cosmetology. She kept up on current affairs, loved jewelry and was always decked out with gold and diamonds. She enjoyed camping, working in her yard and keeping up her home. She loved animals and was fond of her pet cats and dogs. She was also an avid Marilyn Monroe fan and had a vast collection of memorabilia. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and Eagles Lodge. On summer afternoons she enjoyed having lunch at the Root Beer Stand. Never one to miss a good time, she enjoyed hosting gatherings, bonfires and family events in the “party garage”. She had great fun playing cards and rarely missed a trip to the casino or opportunity to go dancing. She was a fantastic cook, and her meals were always enjoyed. Sandy was never too busy to visit with family and spent hours conversing on the phone. She loved spending time with her family and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many wonderful memories of a life well lived and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving children, Jacqueline “Jackie” Barber, Tommy Gormley, Ginger Kalleward; stepchildren, Debbie Bosma and Annie Ah-Chong; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Willabelle Compton and Mark Champion Jr.; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
