Sharon went into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025, with her loved ones by her side. Sharon was born in Kalamazoo on March 28, 1956. She was the daughter of Bob and Mary (Staple) Kornoelje. Sharon’s faith was the center and most important part of her life. She had a servant’s heart and truly enjoyed caring for and helping others. She willingly and lovingly cared-well for her parents until the time of their deaths. Sharon was happiest when she was caring for children and loved her work at Kindercare where each one of those children became a part of her life. Sharon was a devoted and loving Aunt who prayed daily for her nephews and their families. She was so proud of them. Sharon lived the last part of her life at Hope Woods where she had many close friends. Sharon also did a lot of volunteering at Hope Woods and knew the names of every tenant. She would faithfully deliver packages, take them to appointments, or to get groceries. It was Sharon’s greatest joy when she could help someone. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Kornoelje. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother and sister-in-law Ron and Pam Kornoelje and by her dear nephews Russ (Nicole) Kornoelje and Randy (Kelli Van Ocher) Kornoelje and their families, many cousins and her Dear Friend, Trudi Newhouse and many other dear friends from Hope Woods. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at Hope Church, 910 Jenks Blvd, Kalamazoo on Monday, December 8, at 1:00p.m. with Pastor Kevin Sanders and Pastor Curry Pikkaart presiding.
