A memorial service will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Age 85, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. Viola was born in Kalamazoo on January 28, 1931 the daughter of the late Purl and Alberta (Ballinger) Rundio. On September 29, 1951, she married Robert E. Downs who preceded her in death on May 22, 2013. Viola was also preceded in death by her son, Robert E. L. Downs II; brother, Richard Rundio and sister, Lila Roberts. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and gardening. Viola is survived by her children, Ronald (Barb) Downs, Lyn (Ken) Wright and Gwen Valenzuela; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and brother, Jim (Oma) Walker.
