Age 65, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 5, 2023. Amy was born in Kalamazoo on March 17, 1958, the daughter of Lewis Paul and Loretta (Summers) Highsmith. Amy loved golfing and fishing. She was an excellent seamstress and knitter. Amy worked in the school food industry and was a familiar face in many of the local school systems over the years. She enjoyed nothing more than being with her family. Amy is survived by her beloved partner, Jud DeHaan; her son, Abraham L. (Julisa) Young and their children Adin, Jazlynn, and Owen; her son, Benjamin T. Young and his children, Riley, Kiara, Bentley, Mayla; Jud’s daughter, Rebecca (Joe) Finch Jr. and their children, Taylor, L.J. (Sydnee), Alex, Brynlee, Beckett; siblings, Lugreta Waggy, Jack (Linda) DeCamp, Mary Ann (Larry) First, Donald “Doc” (Carolyn) DeCamp; sisters-in-law, Cathy DeCamp, Anette Highsmith; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George DeCamp, Dave DeCamp, Bill Highsmith; sisters, Peggy Clayton and Betty Bennett.
