A Celebration of Life is being planned. At her request, Ann has been cremated and her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Genessee Prairie Cemetery in a private ceremony. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Ann Marie DeBoer Age 73 of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday morning October 4, 2026. Ann was born in Kalamazoo on November 8, 1952, the daughter of Arthur and Marian (Grenke) Vyverman. On August 14, 1976, she married Andrew “Chip” DeBoer who survives her. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. A life-long Kalamazoo resident, Ann attended St. Augustine Elementary School and graduated from Msgr. O’Brien High School in 1970. She attended numerous classes at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and seminars on tax and accounting, in pursuit of her career in banking and tax preparation. She worked for 17 years at Industrial State Bank which later became Comerica Bank in their loan department and where she became an Assistant Vice President. Later she did accounting and tax work for Fisher-Spiegel-Kunkle and Gerber. In her spare time Ann volunteered her services as Treasurer for the Water Wonderland Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society. She enjoyed sewing, white water rafting, train travel, antique boating and extensive travel to boat shows all over the United States and Canada. She was a member of several banking and accounting organizations. She was dearly loved and will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her piercing blue eyes. Besides her husband, Ann is survived by her sons, Andrew Michael DeBoer, Matthew (Danielle) DeBoer; grandchildren, Andrew “Drew” (Alison) DeBoer, Samantha DeBoer, Madison DeBoer, Jade DeBoer; great grandchildren, Nora and Jack DeBoer; brothers, Thomas (Marcia) Vyverman, Joseph (Michelle) Vyverman, Tony (Mary) Vyverman; sister, Rita (Dennis) Daar; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and countless friends. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Kathryn Spiegel.

Ann was a beautiful soul. It was beautiful to see the two of you together throughout the years. God’s Blessings Chip.

I worked with Ann at ISB and she was one of our top employees. She always had a positive attitude and was a top professional as well as a friend. My condolences to Chip. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.
