DRENTH, Anna “Ruth”

Age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 8, 2021. Ruth was born in Kalamazoo on February 24, 1926, the daughter of the late Gerben and Anna (Booden) Zichterman. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School and attended Borgess School of Nursing. Ruth was a lifelong Christian, loved her savior, Jesus Christ and looked forward to returning to her heavenly home. She attended Calvary Bible Church and was a former member of Hope Reformed Church. Ruth enjoyed sewing and mending for others, bowling and playing cards. She was also a member of the VFW and KGM Auxiliaries. She loved her family, raising her five children and felt very blessed with her life. Ruth even got to check riding in a hot air balloon off her bucket list, doing so with her daughter, CJ. On August 19, 1946, she married Robert L. Drenth, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1998. Ruth is survived by her children, David (Annette), Robert (Donna) and Thomas (Sara “Sally”) Drenth, Nancy (Earl) Schmucker and Carol “CJ” Drenth; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Zichterman and sister, Mary Roberts. Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Jerry and Phil Zichterman. A memorial service will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Private interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park – South. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries.
