Obituary
Bernard G. Plomp age 94 of Kalamazoo, passed away Thursday July 30, 2026, at Bronson Commons. Bernard was born September 21, 1931, in Holland, Michigan, the son of Fred and Grace Terharr. He graduated from Holland High School as well as Hope College then entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bernard taught biology at Loy Norrix High School and owned Village Green Antiques in Richland. He was a traveler and an entertainer. Surviving are his Godchild, Clayton Mathews and good friends, Jane and Kurtis Holton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. A

I had the opportunity to care for Bernard. He was a pleasure to work for. Such and easy going person.
I worked for Mr. Plomp occasionally in the late sixties at his antique store and always looked forward to his stories when he returned from his travels. He was a kind and interesting man.
Bernie was my mom’s neighbor at crosstown prkwy, what a kind person loved his stories loved tkling to him he helped me through my mom’s passing he was such a neat human I will miss you Bernie Gail did a great job taking care of Bernie Gail he really enjoyed you and always said you did great work thanks for taking such good care of Bernie Bernie I will miss you forever I think if you all the time I been calling you only this morning I called at 6:15 an your phone is disconnected my heart 💜 sunk, so I looked you up, rest easy my friend I will never forget our talks.
