Obituary
Billie Rae Herrick age 82 of Parchment passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026. Billie was born in Plainwell on September 26, 1943, the daughter of Raymond and Frances (Roberts) Fleeman. On May 5, 1962, she married Ralph Gordon Herrick who survives her. She and Ralph met as teenagers at their first jobs at Bellisle Cut Rate Store in Parchment. Ralph worked in the front and Billie worked at the soda fountain. After their marriage they went for two years to Alaska while Ralph was in the military. Ralph thought her father was going to kill him for taking his daughter so far away. Billie was the first and longtime school bus driver for Parchment Public Schools. For many years she drove special needs students. She and Ralph were lifelong members of the Parchment community and active in many community activities. They enjoyed their membership in the Kalamazoo Corvette Club. In their retirement they wintered in Bonita Springs, FL, where she spent many hours combing the beaches and collecting seashells. Billie was a special, one of kind person who was loved by many. Besides her husband, Billie is survived by her daughters, Lisa Nichols and Sherrie Herrick; grandchildren, James (Ashley) Nichols, Robert Nichols, Emily (Brady) Brouwer; great-grandchildren, Noelle, Cameron, Raeden; brother, Raymond “Mike” (Teresa) Fleeman; nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Billie was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia.

What a great lady Billie was. She always thought of everyone. I remember going to Florida with Lisa to stay at their condo, and she made little goodie bags for us and put them on the pillow on our beds. Those little touches I still remember. She will be missed.❤️
